A friend of mine asked me "what made you get into this?" Welp, let me tell ya!
A long time ago, well what felt like a long time ago, at the age of 9 or 10 my lovely mother bought me some of those cheap acrylic beads from the local super store. Ya know, the "bucket o' beads". I spent hours and hours in my room making bracelets, necklaces, anklets and other fun stuff out of those beads for family and friends. When people saw how happy those beads made me, that's pretty much what I got for Christmas and birthdays for years to come.
I moved to Massachusetts July 2007 from North Carolina. I landed a super boring job as a CSR. Misery took over and I had enough of that job. I quit with the encouragement of my wonderful boyfriend. He said "you should find what it is that you love doing and I'll back you 100%". The only thing that came to mind was how happy I was with those beads.
So, here I am, still playing around with beads. Obviously my taste has matured quite a bit; but I'll always think about those fun times as a kid. Passion is what I have, you just don't let that go to waste. |
